Enhanced Erinacine A Production by Hericium erinaceus Using Solid-State Cultivation

Hericium erinaceus (HE) is a large edible medicinal fungus. Erinacine A (ErA) secondary metabolite presented in the mycelia of HE, with pharmacological effects as nerve growth factor on central nervous system. In this study, solid-state cultivation HE was carried out Petri dishes and glass jars for production mycelial biomass ErA. The potato dextrose agar (PDA) had highest at an optimal temperature 25 °C, but no ErA found media. jar cultivation, specific yield different substrates, particle sizes, substrate weights, nitrogen sources, inorganic salts were investigated. purified by self-pack silica gel column semi-preparative HPLC identified liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometer. best conditions when using corn kernel substrate, size less than 2.38 mm, addition 10mM ZnSO4, 7H2O, 50.24 mg cell dry weight/g obtained, addition, could reach 165.36 mg/g weight.
